Origami Challenge #Day 5 – Santa Claus

Origami Diary

Origami Challenge #Day 5
Work : Santa Claus
Theme : Inside-Out

It’s still summer,
but since I’m following the order of the book, Santa Claus is here!!

I think this Origami Santa Claus holding a sack is one of the cutest among all the Santa Origami.

The technique of using the difference in color between the back and front of the paper is called “Inside-Out” technique.
Amazing that it has a name!

The folding start with the trisecting.
Unlike Origami Spiral Shell from the last challenge,  I had to find the trisecting point by folding this time.
It was interesting to find the trisecting point by folding,
but when it came to the actual folding, this was easier for me.

Origami Santa Claus is not that difficult to fold.
I started with the 15cm size, and then tried smaller and smaller using three different sizes of origami paper!
(1) 15cm x 15cm
(2) 12cm x 12cm
(3) 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm

I want to make an ornament with this Origami Santa when the Christmas season comes!!
